The Montessori- motivated approach is for the universal patterns of development of all children irrespective of their, race, culture, or the time zone they live in.
The benefits of Montessori activities for a 9-month-old are multifaceted such as social, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development.
Here is what I followed when my infants grew 9 months old:-
DIY Montessori Activities For A 9-Month-Old:
A 9-month-old normally explores his/her surroundings with his/ her senses. Naturally, the following DIY Montessori-motivated activities were undoubtedly conducive to my children:-
Texture Basket- I offered a basket to my children after filling it up with things of different textures like wooden blocks, sponges, soft toys, fabrics, etc, and heartened them to explore them.
Mirror Play- I fixed a shatter-proof mirror in the playzone of my babies. He/she looked at his/her reflections and reacted. In addition to this, they made cute facial expressions and I just loved it.
Sensory Bottles- As a part of DIY Montessori activities for a 9-month-old, I filled a transparent plastic bottle with glitters, beads, and buttons, obviously colorful, and gave it to them for auditory and visual stimulation.
Music Time- I also provided my children with simple musical instruments like a shaker, a drum, a flute, and a xylophone and encouraged them to play them. Very naturally, it helped them to grow a sense of sound.
Object Permanence Box- I made a makeshift object permanence box by cutting a hole in the top. Then I helped and urged them to drop small objects through the hole and recovered them again.
Outing: I used to take my babies out for a short walk or a stroll and let them feel natural objects like grass, leaves, flowers, soil, etc. During that time I always supervised them.
Indoor Montessori Activities For A 9 Month Old:-

- Playing with soft toys of different textures and shapes for physical movements.
- Playing before an unbreakable mirror to explore facial expressions and body movements.
- Playing with a Montessori ring stacker of wood or plastic to practice hand-eye coordination.
- Listening to soft music or rhymes to create a sense of sound and rhythm.
- Looking at high-contrast pictures to stimulate the sense of sight and react.
Funny Activities To Do With Your 9-Month-Old:
I found it suitable to make my children learn in a funny way or playfully. Naturally, my Montessori activities for my 9-month-olds included funny activities. What is more, I found that some of these activities swayed my infants with fun-
- Playing peek-a-boo
- Making funny faces and noises around them.
- Playing with sound or song-making toys.
- Dancing to music before them.
- Blowing bubbles and encouraging them to catch.
